The Association of American Chinese Physicians (ACAP) is proud to recognize the invaluable contributions of our volunteers, whose dedication and service are essential to the success of our community health initiatives. The events and programs we organize each year would not be possible without the generous support and commitment of these individuals.
As a Certifying Organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), ACAP has long honored our volunteers by nominating them for this prestigious national recognition based on their documented hours of service.
In May 2025, during the temporary suspension of the PVSA program, ACAP established the ACAP Volunteer Service Award (AVSA) as an interim form of recognition. The AVSA upholds the same high standards as the PVSA and is awarded at three levels- Gold, Silver, and Bronze, based on the number of hours volunteered, in accordance with PVSA criteria.

AVSA Service Criteria
| Age Group | Bronze | Silver | Gold |
| Kids (5-10) | 26–49 | 50–74 | 75+ |
| Teens (11–15) | 50–74 | 75–99 | 100+ |
| Young Adults (16-25) | 100–174 | 175–249 | 250+ |
| Adults (26+) | 100–249 | 250–499 | 500+ |
This award reflects our continued commitment to acknowledging the time, energy, and passion our volunteers bring to promoting quality healthcare through physician networking and professional development.
