The Association of Chinese American Physicians will hold a small health lecture on February 12th (Monday) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the third-floor conference room of the Elmhurst Library. The lecture will be conducted by Dr. Weihong Yan, an obstetrician and gynecologist of the Association of Chinese American Physicians, with the theme of the treatment of gynecological diseases. This lecture is sponsored by MetroPlusHealth.
Women’s health is an important topic. Firstly, let’s discuss common health problems related to reproductive organs and menstrual cycles. These problems may include irregular menstruation, pain or discomfort, excessive or insufficient menstrual flow, and other abnormalities related to the menstrual cycle. In addition, gynecological infections, and diseases, such as endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome, are also common health issues. Dr. Weihong Yan is an obstetrician and gynecologist in New York State. She graduated from Peking University Medical School in 1994 with a medical degree. She has served as an attending physician at Maimonides Medical Center and obtained a special certificate in American obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Yan diagnoses various gynecological diseases and is skilled in robotic minimally invasive surgery. Before formulating a surgical plan, she provides reasonable treatment suggestions based on the patient’s condition. Her expertise lies in providing attentive service to patients, carefully observing subtle changes or changes in the patient’s pregnancy process, taking timely measures, and providing certain surgical treatments. Since 2007, ACAP (Association of Chinese American Physicians) has held a community health festival every year, providing free health lectures, health information, and various on-site health check services to the Chinese community.
