ACAP 2024 Practice Management Meeting

ACAP’s Annual Practice Management Meeting was held this past Friday in Flushing at the Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel and was a resounding success! 🙌

As we approach the end of the year, November is a great time to focus on financial planning and prepare for year-end tax filing. Zhihua Liu, an actuary based in New York, shared her valuable insights on using retirement plans like DB and pension plans. She highlighted key considerations, presented real-world case studies, and discussed both successes and challenges, offering lessons learned along the way.

Artificial intelligence is influencing every aspect of our lives, and medicine is no exception. James Long and his team from MDLand, a leading digital health technology company, showcased how AI is being integrated into our daily medical practices and discussed how its use will evolve in the future. We look forward to the upcoming advances of AI in Healthcare!

The complexity of medical knowledge and the rigor of medical regulations present significant challenges, including potential pitfalls. Daniel Yao, a prominent attorney from Long Island, and Richard Harrow, an esteemed attorney from Upstate New York, both drew on their experiences in the New York State Attorney General’s Office and as legal attorneys to offer valuable insights into the legal landscape for doctors and healthcare professionals.

Managing finances in healthcare can be a very delicate process. Mervyn Wang from New York Life, a mutual company with a century-long history, provided a thorough analysis of common mistakes in financial planning and walked us through strategies with varying financial tax implications. His presentation offered practical advice for avoiding common mistakes in managing healthcare finances.

We are sincerely thankful for the support of our speakers, sponsors like Quest Diagnostics, volunteers, and everyone who attended for their active participation and ongoing support. 🌟 It was a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and expand our knowledge! 🎉
